Introduction

Jasvinder Singh is the latest to happen in the ghazal scenario of Indian music. Jasvinder Singh with a soft and silky voice has proved his mettel as an artist who has ghazals in his blood! Literally so, as he is the son of famous music director Kuldip Singh of Saath Saath (Tum ko dekha to yeh khayal aaya), and Ankush fame (itni shakti hamein dena data). These remain etched in the memory of the musical audience, long after the run of mill songs come and go.

Jasvinder has done his masters in Philosophy. He has been trained in light classical and classical music by Pt. Ajay Pohankar and the latter’s illustrious mother, Dr. Sushila Pohankar, respectively. Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh is also chiseling his talent, through his constant guidance.


on TV

He was recognized as the Best Singer, in the Mega finals of TVS Sa-Re-Ga-Ma, the popular musical programme on ZEE TV.

Jasvinder has sung for the film "Train To Pakistan" and tele serials such as "Naya Nukkad", Discovery of India, Chitrahar (DD1), Kacchi Kandh (Alpha Punjabi), Ittefaq (ZEE), Raja Ka Baaja (DD), Supriya (SAAB TV), Sarhad, Papa (B4U) and Rang Shala (Zee). His forthcoming serials include Aaiye Muskuraiye and U-Turn.


Albums

Tips released his solo album " Yours Truly " with eight melodious numbers by eminent poets, including Payam Saeedi, Naqsh Layalpuri, Bashir Badr, Jigar Muradabadi, Rahat Indori and Shahid.

Eastern Music Promotion (UK) has released his ghazal album "Jazba-a-Dil" in Europe and US.

In "Dilkash", he takes the help of the poetry of Ghalib, Daag, Bahadur Shah Zafar and Payam Saeedi among others. He is in form in this album, particularly in "Mere Humdum" and "Yaar Ki Koi Khabar Nahin".

This 10-track album will find a niche audience. It might just give the world of ghazal a new soothing name to listen to.

Jasvinder Singh may have had a low-profile launch but given his talent and sincerity, as evidenced in this album, he won't be in the shadows for too long. Currently, he is working on his new album which will be with Tips music and will be released soon.

Jasvinder gives regular concerts in India and has been to UK as well. He has his own unique style of performing and has a great command over the audience in his concerts and mehfils. He has also mastered the art of singing some foot-tapping Punjabi songs which he likes to sing in his concert for the finale.
