In fact these ashaar cann't be writtten by two people at all. but you need go much deeper in understanding about such illusion of contradiction... Achha aur bura are relative and both exist together (first two ashaars). And they exist due to our ego (third ashaar).. is it clear now? | ||

SPB meditate over the following story to see the beauty of "contradiction". Two deciples came to their Guru to ask if they could smoke during meditation. To one Guru said "yes" and to the other deciple guru said "no". Deciples were puzzled why such a contradiction, guru must have been consistent and fair to both. Deciples asked their guru the reason behind this contradiction? can you guess SPB what was the reason ? one has to go beyond mental level to understand such truths of life.. I think you need to be a gumsum in the true sense of the term and meditate not just over this story but about yourself in depth. aap khud jara is story ka superficial meaning to samajh lo fir " beyond mental level" jaaneki baat sochna I will deliver another lecture for you .. if you understand this one. | ||

I actually liked the story. Reminded me of the Zen kuans Here is another kuan : A young talented monk has been in search of enlightenment all his life. He desperately wants to understand the Buddha and what it is like to be enlightened. After years of hard penance, he is still not getting anywhere. Then he hears of this great Zen Master in the far away regions of Tsun, who, as he is told, is probably the only living person who can answer his questions, for the Master is truly enlightened. After days of travel on foot, through jungles and mountains, the young monk finally makes it to the monastery where the Master dwells, along with his other desciples. It is nighttime when the young monk arrives, but as soon as he is greeted in by the gate-keeper, he requests to see the Master. The gate-keeper says that it is nighttime and the Master will surely grant him an audience the next morning, and that he should rest after his long journey. In teh morning, the young monk is ushered in the presence of the Master. As soon as he sees the master, the young monk cries out, "Please help me in my search! I want to know what it means to be the Buddha! I want to know how to get enlightened!" The master smiles and asks, "Have you had breakfast?" The young monk hurriedly replies, " Yes. But..." The master merely replies, "Why dont you wash the dishes then" **********end******** Why dont we all just wash the dishes... | ||

I am eager to know the deeper/hidden meaning if u dont mind sharing. Did the Master mean that in doing the daily chores u find enlightenment - something like 'chop wood, carry water' when enlightened and have no time for questions. Meenakshi why didn't you ask earlier ? A real guru is never partial and he works like a mirror. A true guru simply reflects. So from guru's point of view, there was no contradiction, but from deciple's point of view, it was a contradiction. In fact, both of them asked the questions differently, that is why guru gave two different answers.. one deciple asked, "can I smoke during meditation", answer was "NO" The other deciple asked, "Can I meditate during smoking", Guru said "YES" A contradition is always relative..... I love Zen kuans and sufi stories.. one story is enough to taste the "mystery of life"..... In fact without experience of meditation, Zen kuans and sufi stories are hard to "taste".. | ||

Meenakshi, just one suggestion, one shouldn't try to find the "meaning" in a Zen Kuan - there is no meaning in them.... but some intellctuals do that. Like some people find meaning in the symbol "AUM"... All meanings are part of the same cunning mind.... nothing but illusion... They are like tasting the "sweet" and no one can describe what "sweetness" is.... | ||
